Accused in Project Cardiff raid pleads guilty

CORNWALL – A South Dundas man, arrested during the police operation Project Cardiff, has been given a 12 month probationary sentence for drug production.

Steve Prunner, 49, pleaded guilty during a court appearance Jan. 5, 2017 in Cornwall, Ont. to a single count of production of cannabis marijuana. A second count of possession of marijuana was withdrawn by the Crown.

Prunner is also banned from owning or possessing weapons for the next 10 years and has to submit a DNA sample to the registry.

He also has to pay a $200 victim fine surcharge, which is payable within a year.

Prunner was among ten people arrested in August 2016 after police raided various homes and properties across Stormont and Dundas Counties.
