CORNWALL – It’s a second full day for Cornwall’s budget committee as the corporation goes through its operating budgets for various departments.
The committee meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday at city hall where the budgets of fire, council/CAO, clerk/human resources, financial services, shared services, police, infrastructure and municipal works, planning, development and recreation and the library will be reviewed.
The Budget Steering Committee members are chairman Denis Carr, vice chairman Bernadette Clement, Mark MacDonald, Carilyne Hebert and Andre Rivette.
As it stands now, the budget is projected to collect 1.57 per cent more in taxes next year and the average residential tax increase will be around 4.57 per cent once you factor in municipal assessment.
