CORNWALL – The city’s core budget committee will meet Monday for the first time to discuss a road map for 2017 budget talks.
The meeting at city hall on Monday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. will see the election of a chairman and vice chairman and set up a schedule for deliberations.
This is the second year the budget is being handled by two separate committees – the Community Agencies’ Review Committee and the Budget Steering Committee.
The Budget Steering Committee members are Denis Carr, Mark MacDonald, Carilyne Hebert, Andre Rivette and Bernadette Clement.
The 2016 budget passed with a 1.88 per cent tax increase or an extra $41.58 on an average 2016 tax bill.
