WILLIAMSTOWN – After months of dealing with detours, motorists in South Glengarry are able to cross the Kraft Road bridge again.

The bridge, near the intersection of Glen Road and Kraft Road, reopened to traffic this morning (Friday).

The Kraft Road bridge, south of Williamstown, has been closed since the end of May for rehabilitation work.

Based on an 2012 engineering report, the work amounted to about $1 million and should keep the bridge in good shape for the next 50 years.

The 1962 three span concrete bridge is about 18 meters long (60 feet) and roughly 7.3 meters (24 feet) wide.
