CORNWALL – Around 2,000 Cornwall Electric customers briefly lost their power Wednesday afternoon after a tree fell on a power line.

Residents in the area reported hearing a loud bang around 12:15 p.m., which Cornwall Electric Regional Manager Michael O’Reilly said was a fuse disconnecting.

A tree branch had fallen on a power line on Hamilton Crescent.

O’Reilly said crews had to explore the line to find the tree and clear it before power was restored about 20 minutes later.
