A section of Power Dam Drive and the interchange, as seen in this Google Maps diagram, will be closed until Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, according to the MTO. The county is doing work on the road. (Google Maps via Newswatch Group)

CORNWALL/SOUTH STORMONT – It will be another week before motorists can use the Power Dam Drive interchange on Highway 401.

The off-ramp and a section of the road (County Road 33) to Cornwall Centre Road has been closed since the middle of last week.

Ministry of Transportation spokesman Vanessa Miceli told Cornwall Newswatch the ramp is anticipated to be closed until Sept. 23 for a county construction project, south of the interchange.

Meanwhile, if you have seen workers under the Power Dam bridge, a separate provincial project is underway to rehabilitate the underpass.

That project should be completed by late fall.

Driving up Power Dam Drive, north of Vincent Massey has given drivers that boxed-in feeling because Cornwall Centre Road has also been closed from Power Dam Drive to Brookdale Avenue for a culvert replacement.
