SD&G – Despite pleas from representatives from three different library branches, the SD&G Library Board voted Tuesday to stay with its decision.

The board had called a special meeting to discuss the impending closure of the Morewood, St. Andrews West and Dalkeith branches.

In a final vote of 3-2, the board decided not to overturn its decision.

Cal Martin for the St. Andrews West branch told the board he would be pushing for South Stormont to get out of the county library system.

Before the vote, Jamie MacDonald spoke about what he felt was a complete lack of process and transparency on the decision affecting smaller communities.
