CORNWALL – The provincial government has released details on exactly how many jobs will be added at Morbern in light of its recent expansion plans.
As Cornwall Newswatch first told you in June, the manufacturer of coated fabrics and specialty knitted fabrics was adding a $9 million expansion to the Boundary Road plant.
In a release Monday, the Ontario government said 36 positions will be added at the plant and 230 employees will be retained.
The entire expansion (the company says it’s 20,000 square feet, the Ontario government says it’s 12,500 square feet) is not expected to be completed until 2019, the government said.
The construction is being done by local firm Perras-Distefano.
