WINCHESTER – Scores of doctors at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital like coming to work, according to a newly released survey.

The poll, carried out by National Research Corporation Canada between July 2014 and December 2015, showed WDMH scored as the top performer in seven out of eight survey themes.

Those themes include job satisfaction, quality of work life and patient safety.

Winchester is among 60-some hospitals surveyed by the NRCC.

WDMH spokeswoman Jane Adams told Cornwall Newswatch, the only category where the hospital didn’t score as the top performer was infection control, specifically promotion of hand washing.

In an email to CNW, Adams said 93 per cent of WDMH doctors asked thought the hospital promoted hand washing compared to the provincial average of 95 per cent.

“There was a strong response rate which further suggests my colleagues are happy at WDMH,” Chief of Staff Dr. Darren Tse said.

“It’s great to work with such a committed and professional team. According to the survey, they are some of the most satisfied doctors in Canada.”

There are 160 doctors practicing at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
