CORNWALL – A Cornwall man has won $100,000 on Encore.

John Primeau also added to his winnings, taking home $20 on the Lotto Max portion of his ticket from the Aug. 5, 2016 draw.

“I stopped at the gas station to fill up and check a couple of tickets,” Primeau said, while at the OLG Prize Center in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I saw $100,000 on the screen, I called the retailer over and asked if it was right. He was more excited than I was!”

Primeau also had his wife come to the store to verify the win.

“I ran in the door (at home) and said, ‘Come with me to the gas station, I have a problem.’ Once we scanned the ticket again, I made her read the numbers and she yelled out, ‘It’s $100,000!’”

Primeau has no plans for the money at this time.

The winning ticket was bought at the Giant Tiger on Pitt Street in Cornwall.
