BAINSVILLE – A farm equipment shed has burned to the ground in an early morning fire over the weekend.

South Glengarry firefighters from four stations were called to the property north of Bainsville around 1:30 a.m. yesterday (Sunday).

“It was an agricultural shop and storage building. It was fully engulfed on arrival by crews. We do not have a cause at this time due to the heavy fire load upon arrival, so basically it is a full loss,” Fire Chief Dave Robertson told Cornwall Newswatch.

Robertson said other outbuildings – some holding livestock – were protected from the flames.

There were no other reported injuries.

The building was insured, Robertson said.
