CORNWALL – Hot and humid weather from the Gulf of Mexico will be moving into the region this week, making it uncomfortably warm.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon, replacing a special weather statement for SD&G.
It says the heat, which is expected to arrive tomorrow (Tuesday), will bring highs near 32 degrees, not including the humidity.
However, there may be some relief in the form of occasional showers or thunderstorms.
Overnight, the lows will be in the 20s and it will be muggy, the agency said.
The hot weather is expected to break Friday.
A heat warning is issued when temperatures are above 30 degrees and humidex values exceed 40 degrees for more than one hour.
