CORNWALL – The city has parted ways with its municipal clerk.

Chief Administrative Officer Maureen Adams told Cornwall Newswatch Wednesday night, Helen Finn was no longer working for the city as of the end of the business day Tuesday.

Adams would not elaborate on the reasons for Finn’s departure.

Helen Finn was hired in December 2012 after Denise Labelle-Gelinas retired.

In addition to his regular job, Human Resources Manager Geoff Clarke will be overseeing the clerk’s duties in the interim, in conjunction with Deputy Clerk Manon Levesque.

Levesque will be doing daily procedural duties, including duties during regular council meetings.

CAO Maureen Adams is looking at the possibility of changing the entire clerk’s department structure.
