CORNWALL – A Cornwall man is in hospital with serious head injuries after something happened on Louisa Street early Wednesday morning.

The victim is in his 30s and is reported to be in serious but stable condition. His condition is not life-threatening, police said Thursday.

Cornwall police were still investigating Thursday and had the scene still taped off after the Wednesday crime in the city’s east end.

By Wednesday afternoon, a police forensics vehicle was on scene and officers were taking video and putting down crime scene markers, a witness told CNW.

Police don’t know whether a weapon was used.

Const. Dan Cloutier said this is an isolated incident and public safety is not a concern at this time.

More interviews with witnesses are expected to take place today (Thursday).

No arrests have been made.
