CORNWALL – A woman has been hospitalized after her foot was crushed by a piece of machinery at a construction site in Cornwall.
City police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene on Sydney Street, between Ninth and Tenth Streets around 4 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday).
A woman’s foot was crushed by the bucket of a bucket-truck, where workers are building the new Fit4Less gym.
The Ministry of Labour has been notified and police were holding the scene until they arrived.
The victim’s identity – whether she was a worker or a bystander – and her condition are not immediately known though the injuries are said to be serious.
Police taped off the scene late Thursday afternoon.
