SOUTH DUNDAS – The township council is expected to approve nearly $1.4 million in road work tonight (Tuesday).
Most of the work is either complete surface treatments or the so-called shave-and-pave, where a thin top layer of asphalt is taken off and replaced.
The biggest ticket items are in the Brinston-area where Irish Headline Road will go through a $230,570 surface treatment and Coons Road will see $360,000 in rehabilitation and resurfacing.
In Morrisburg, Laurier Drive, Canada Way and Orchard Way will undergo a shave-and-pave
For Iroquois, 550 meters (1,800 feet) of Elizabeth Drive will be upgraded.
In the Elma-area, Pages Corner Road, Young Road, Cassie Road and Gary Road will be getting surface treatment.
Hanes Road, linking Lakeshore Drive and County Road 2 west of Mariatown, will be fixed up.
There’s $108,000 dedicated to Heritage Road in Dundela.
As for Lakeshore Drive, $50,000 is committed to address drainage issues on the road.
There’s another $25,000 in the roads budget for general technical and design work.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the South Dundas Municipal Center.
