CORNWALL – A Cornwall man suspected of possessing child pornography has had his trial moved to late 2017.

Mathieu Pahle was originally supposed to face a trial sometime this year.

But court documents show after several court appearances and going through the pretrial phase between January and March this year, the trial has now been scheduled for December 2017.

The court has set aside five days for a judge-only trial starting December 11, 2017.

Pahle was arrested in September 2014 as part of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet, a province-wide multi-police force investigation that saw 60 arrests, 99 search warrants and 249 charges laid.

Another man caught in the bust – 50-year-old Steven Seyeau – was given a six month jail sentence after pleading guilty in May 2015.

For Pahle, pre-trail motions will be held in June 2017, before the December trial dates.
