SD&G – South Stormont is the latest township to outlaw outdoor burning.

With the dry conditions, Fire Chief Gilles Crepeau put the ban in place today (April 29).

This comes after South Dundas put a similar ban in place April 18, 2016 and North Dundas also has a burn ban in effect.

South Glengarry Acting Fire Chief Dave Robertson told Cornwall Newswatch their municipality is considering a ban but none is in place as of Friday afternoon.

North Glengarry doesn’t have a burning ban in place.

As for North Stormont, there was no posted notice on the municipal website and a call to the township was not immediately returned.
