Eight month shutdown for SD&G Highway 401 overpasses

SOUTH STORMONT/SOUTH DUNDAS – Two Highway 401 overpasses will be shut down for approximately eight months, starting in early April.

Pomerleau Inc. will start the demolition and reconstruction of the Aultsville Road overpass and the Brinston Road overpass on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

The overpasses will be closed to traffic a week later – April 4, 2016 – and will remain that way until the reconstruction is complete, sometime in November 2016.

For traffic using Aultsville Road in South Stormont, the detour routes will be via County Road 2 to Dickinson Drive and County Road 18 to Dickinson Drive.

For the Brinston Road in South Dundas, traffic will go via County Road 2 to Carmen Road and Stampville Road (County Road 40) to Carmen Road.

The closures are not expected to affect Highway 401 traffic.
