SD&G – The United Way campaign for SD&G has ended at 91 per cent of its goal.
Executive Director Lori Greer announced Tuesday the fundraising has reached just over $646,000. “It is possible this figure may change as donations continue to arrive supporting the campaign,” Greer said.
Campaign chairman Michael Galvin said he was impressed with the amount of work put in by staff and volunteers for the biggest project for the United Way.
This is the second year the campaign has struggled to the finish line after being extended several weeks.
The executive did not indicate whether the funding shortfall will affect any of the 17 member agencies the United Way supports.
Greer indicated the United Way would be starting a “strategic planning process” to chart the agency’s course for 2016 and beyond.
