Man grabs for officer’s gun during fight with O.P.P.

NORTH STORMONT – An Ottawa man is facing numerous charges after getting into a fight with police and attempting to grab one of the officers’ guns.

SD&G O.P.P. were called to Concession Road 5 just before 11 p.m. Friday for a disturbance call and they found a man who was not obeying court orders related to a previous incident.

During his arrest, the man fought with officers at the detachment, threatened them, and tried to grab one of their guns.

The accused, 23, is charged with assaulting a police officer, disarming a police officer, uttering threats, and nine counts of failing to comply with court conditions.

The man was held for a bail hearing.
