CORNWALL – The city has hired a manager to oversee social services for SD&G.

Stacey Ferguson hails from Bowmanville and was the supervisor overseeing the social assistance management system for the Region of Durham.

She also held a similar position in Toronto.

Ferguson has over 25 years of experience in social services, said the city in a news release.

The psychology grad from Wilfrid Laurier University has also done case management, property administration and employment consulting.

“I am really looking forward to beginning this exciting new chapter in my career and becoming a part of the Cornwall community,” Ferguson said.

Her new job starts Feb. 1.

Ferguson replaces Debora Daigle, who retired late last year.
