SD&G – Hundreds of people across the United Counties are without power tonight (Sunday) as high winds rake the area.
The largest outage, according to Hydro One, is a section of North Stormont and North Glengarry, stretching from Moose Creek and Casselman to Alexandria and Vankleek Hill. Roughly 2,500 customers are without power.
In South Glengarry, near the St. Lawrence River at the south end of 2nd Line Road, roughly 120 people are in the dark.
There’s also 127 customers out, between Finch and Crysler, and another batch of outages north of Berwick Road.
Roughly 110 customers don’t have power along the County Road 31 corridor between Morrisburg and Winchester.
Hydro One estimates the power will be back on between midnight and 1 a.m. and roughly 1:30 a.m. for people along County Road 31.
According to Environment Canada, as of 10 p.m., the wind in SD&G was steady at 32 kilometers an hour with gusts up to 63 kilometers an hour.
