Cornwall police exercise Tuesday

CORNWALL – If you see police officers with guns in the area of a north-end Cornwall school Tuesday, don’t be alarmed.

It’s a training exercise for the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT) and other plain clothed officers.

The mock scenario exercise at Saint Gabriel school at 1335 Reneal Street will start around 8 a.m. and will go to about 1 p.m.

Const. Dan Cloutier told Cornwall Newswatch, since it’s a training exercise, the officers will have no live ammunition.

While traffic will be allowed in the area you might encounter some delays.

The police are thanking the public in advance for their understanding.
