Man found Christmas Eve likely hit by vehicle: police

MAXVILLE – A man found at the side of County Road 22 Christmas Eve is still in critical condition in hospital as his family pleads for witnesses to come forward.

SD&G O.P.P. were called around 4 a.m. Dec. 24 after someone found a man injured on County Road 22 (Dyer Road) east of Highway 138.

Const. Joel Doiron told Cornwall Newswatch Monday, it’s believed the victim was struck by a vehicle.

According to CBC News, he’s been identified as Christopher Coleman, 34, of Moose Creek, Ont.

His family said in a written statement that they were hopeful someone would come forward to “provide closure,” CBC reported.

Some locals believe Coleman could have been walking home from Maxville when he was hit.
