Winter’s arrival in SD&G

In this graphic from The Weather Network on Dec. 1, 2015, the forecaster is calling for a milder than average winter to start in the region followed by more seasonal temperatures in January and February. (The Weather Network via Newswatch Group)

SD&G – With rain showers it may not feel like winter, but the calendar says otherwise.

The winter solstice officially arrives at 11:49 p.m. tonight (Monday).

The good news – this is the day with the least amount of daylight, also making it the longest night of the year.

The amount of daylight will get progressively longer as we head to spring.

The bad news – for some – is that spring won’t be here until March 20.
