SD&G – While the event is over, the United Counties International Plowing Match is still paying dividends – this time to hospitals.

All the proceeds from Tim Hortons coffee sales at the event in Finch – over $6,000 – will be shared among three SD&G hospitals, the county announced Monday.

“The comfort of enjoying a cup of coffee while taking your time to enjoy SDG is what our County Showcase was all about,” SD&G economic development officer Terry Besner said.

Tim Hortons had partnered with the county on its IPM display.

The money will go to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital, the Cornwall Community Hospital and the Glengarry Memorial Hospital.

Organizers said the event from Sep. 22-26 saw roughly 83,000 pass through the gates.
