CORNWALL – The red flower of remembrance is popping up around Cornwall.
The annual poppy campaign got underway today (Friday), leading up to Remembrance Day.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 has the poppies on sale at stores and shopping centers throughout the city to allow people to wear a symbol of national pride and respect.
The money from the poppy sales is used to support Canada’s serving and retired veterans and their families.
There are plans for legion officials to raise a poppy flag at the legion at the corner of Second Street West and Cumberland Street.
