SD&G – No less than a half dozen drivers lost their vehicles over the Thanksgiving weekend for speeding on Highway 401 through SD&G.

O.P.P. were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 401 from Friday through Sunday (Oct. 9-11).

All but one of the drivers were men and the offenders ranged in age from 19 to 35.

Five of them were from the GTA while the sixth was from Kirkland, Que.

The top speed clocked by an SD&G O.P.P. officer was a 22-year-old man from Toronto caught on radar travelling at 188 kilometers an hour through South Glengarry.

All the drivers had their vehicles impounded for a week and their driver’s licences suspended for the same amount of time under Ontario’s street racing law.
