WINCHESTER – The hospital in Winchester is hoping to have some major savings when it comes to keeping the lights on.

Winchester District Memorial Hospital has replaced all its parking lot lights with LED fixtures.

It’s believed the move will save the hospital about $120,000 in electricity over the next decade, according to Building Services Manager Linda Symonds.

The lighting retrofit was done by E.C. Carruthers & Sons Utility Construction Limited of Morewood and Barry McShane Electrical of South Mountain.

The hospital has already changed out lights in its meeting rooms to LED as part of its Green Energy Plan.
