DUNDAS COUNTY – Organizers are calling their “Fill The Bus” food bank drive a huge success.

The Friday event between the House of Lazarus in Mountain and the Dundas County Food Bank saw over $700 in donations and hundreds of pounds of food collected.

Two buses went to various grocery stores and a big-box store in Dundas County and North Grenville.

For the Dundas County Food Bank there were 347 items collected as well as $246.36.

For the House of Lazarus, it was $559 and 679.7 pounds of food for the local food bank.

In addition to all the people involved, organizers are thanking Lannin’s Bus Line in Chesterville and their drivers for moving the collection buses between Kemptville, Winchester, Morrisburg and Iroquois.

The food bank team-up was also to help collect back-to-school items for both food banks.
