Cornwall burglary suspects picked up in Montreal

CORNWALL – City police officers had to make the trek to Montreal to pick up a couple suspects wanted for a number of north-end Cornwall break-ins.

The two men – a 19-year-old from Dalkeith and a 21-year-old from Cornwall – were arrested Wednesday by Montreal authorities.

They were arrested on Cornwall warrants and city officers formally arrested them yesterday (Thursday).

The Dalkeith man is charged with possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. The man from Cornwall is charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime and six counts of breach of probation.

Police say several homes were burgled this month.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the north-end break-ins is asked to call the Cornwall Community Police Service anonymous tip line at 613-933-5000 extension 2404.
