SD&G – Organizers of the first local food challenge in the region say the program drew nearly 200 registrants across SD&G and Prescott-Russell.

The 10 Day Local Food Challenge, which partnered with local food producers and businesses, saw people rewarded for sharing their daily challenges on social media using the hashtag #eatSDGPR.

There was also workshops, tours and tastings during the week-and-a-half event.

While the event has wrapped up, organizers are hoping other residents will continue to use the resources on the event website to continue local food habits.

There are already plans for next year, which will go on the website Aug. 27.
