Expansions in Cornwall, Brockville for horse race betting

TORONTO – People looking to put their money on the ponies have more opportunities in Eastern Ontario.

The Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has expanded its off-track betting network, called Champions Off Track Betting, to include locations in Brockville and Cornwall.

The locations at Broad Street Bar and Billiards at 51 King Street West in Brockville and A&F Billiards at 854 First Street East in Cornwall launched Saturday.

“I am confident Champions will be a great extension to their existing business and it should be a great integration with their other service offerings,” said WEG GM Tom Papakonstantinou.

The two venues now make 48 WEG locations across Ontario for wagering on horse racing.

Woodbine Entertainment Group is the largest operator of horse racing in Canada and said its distribution network runs approximately 80 per cent of the pari-mutuel wagering in Ontario.
