Disturbances at Morrisburg Beach

(Newswatch Group/File)

MORRISBURG – A hot, summer night brought a lot of activity to Morrisburg Beach – and also the police.

SD&G O.P.P. were called twice Monday night for disturbances on the beach at 85 Canada Way.

A drunken man was arrested around 6:30 p.m. for causing a disturbance.

SD&G O.P.P. then learned the Cardinal man, 28, was wanted by Grenville County O.P.P.

He is facing Liquor Licence Act charges of having open liquor and being intoxicated in a public place.

The accused was turned over to Grenville provincial police officers.

Then – about 30 minutes later – a 16-year-old female was arrested after police allege she threatened another beach goer.

She was charged with uttering threats and failing to comply with a previous court sentence.

She was held for a bail hearing in Cornwall today (Tuesday).
