LANCASTER – Hydro One crews are on the scene trying to figure out what caused a massive power outage in a large portion of South Glengarry.
The utility’s website showed an area east of County Road 20, just south of Green Valley and all the way south to the St. Lawrence River and east to the Quebec border.
A resident told Cornwall Newswatch through Twitter the power went out around 7:30 p.m.
The cause of the outage, affecting 2,800 customers, is not known at this time.
However, there are reports of broken hydro poles on Heron Road, west of Williamstown.

Hydro One stated that power likely won’t be restored until 2 a.m. Wednesday.
