CORNWALL – A Hercules aircraft will be buzzing over Lamoureux Park in Cornwall to mark this year’s Canada Day festivities.
MP Guy Lauzon said Monday the Department of National Defence Hercules CC-130J will pass over the city just after noon on Wednesday in a “unique addition” to July 1 activities.
The four-engine, fixed-wing turboprop will then head to Ottawa for events there.
The plane, which can carry 92 combat troops or 128 passengers, is used in a wide range of Canadian missions.
The Hercules is scheduled to fly over at approximately 12:10 p.m. but it’s also dependent on the weather.
In previous years the Snowbirds have done a flyby of Cornwall during Canada Day. However, this year they are in an air show Tuesday afternoon in Gatineau, Que.
