Patenaude Martial Arts founders die in motorcycle crash

MALONE, N.Y. – A Casselman couple behind the successful Patenaude Martial Arts school died Thursday in a motorcycle crash in Malone.

Jacques and Linda Patenaude, 60 and 55 years old respectively, died after their Harley Davidson motorcycle ran into the back of a stopped Jeep Grand Cherokee on State Route 37.

The driver of the Jeep had been waiting to make a left-hand turn to County Road 51.

The 53-year-old Malone resident was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Jacques and Linda Patenaude were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Patenaudes had founded the first Fang Shen Do school in Ottawa, which had grown to two dozen schools across Ontario and Quebec, including Cornwall.
