Thieves clean up with theft of transport trailer

SOUTH GLENGARRY/CORNWALL/SOUTH STORMONT – Thieves have made off with a transport trailer full of washers and dryers with, of all things, a stolen rig.

SD&G O.P.P. say the theft of the 53 foot trailer happened at a commercial property sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Investigators later learned the truck used to steel the trailer was also stolen.

The white International day cab tractor has Seaway Express logos and was taken in Cornwall, which city police are investigating.

O.P.P. say the thieves also tried to break into other trailers on the commercial lot but didn’t take anything.

The trailer is a 2000 Trailmobile enclosed trailer with white sides and brown rear doors and nose piece. It has a logo – V.A. – in white with an orange circle around it on the sides and rear door.

If you have any information or see the truck and trailer you’re asked to call SD&G O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police say, in a separate case, another trailer – a black “Stealth Liberty” enclosed cargo trailer – was taken from a business on Moulinette Road in South Stormont around the same time (overnight Tuesday).
