Cornwall police targeting plate covers, driving docs

Cornwall Community Police Service Const. Matt Dupuis found this licence plate cover in a Cornwall parking lot that was anything but readable. The CCPS was targeting vehicle documentation which includes registration stickers, and by extension licence plate covers, because in some cases officers can't read the plates. CORNWALL – Have a clear or coloured licence plate cover on your vehicle?

The monthly Traffic Action Plan for Cornwall police is document violations and some officers are having a hard time reading licence plate registration stickers because of plate covers.

The fine for not have a plate that officers can clearly read is $110, not to mention the fines for expired plates, no insurance or expired driver’s licences.

In one case, Cornwall Community Police Service Traffic Unit Const. Matt Dupuis came across a clear plate cover that was far from clear.

Dupuis is still adding up the numbers from last month’s bicycle enforcement campaign and those results should be coming soon.
