IROQUOIS — The Seaway Kickers soccer club kicked off their 2015 season on June 1 at the big field at Seaway District High School, with the U16-Mixed team hosting Ottawa-Nepean’s M4 team.
Scoring opened at the five-minute mark in the first half with forward Brayden Blacquiere-Rizk netting his first of two back-to-back goals. Blacquiere-Rizk’s second goal was sunk low in the right corner of Ottawa-Nepean’s net four-minutes later. 2-0 Seaway.
Midfielder Ian Koch, a transfer this season from North Dundas United, landed his first of the season, besting Ottawa-Nepean’s keeper at the 16 minute mark, 3-0 Seaway. Midfielder Aaron Tibben out-maneuvered a three-defender challenge, planting a one-timer low in the right corner of the net, 4-0 Seaway at the half.
Scoring in the second half was Sam Waytowich (2), Kasper Furo, and Antoine Scarr scored his first on a penalty kick as the minutes were winding down on the clock.
The score at the final whistle, Seaway Kickers 8, Ottawa-Nepean M4 0. Goal Keepers Antoine Scarr and David Swerdfeger share the shutout.
The U16M team visits Ottawa-Nepean’s M3 team on June 8th at Sir Robert Borden High School in Ottawa, 6:30 p.m. game time.

U16-Girls
The U16-Girls team start regular season play on June 3 in Iroquois at Seaway District High School, playing host to Ottawa-Nepean’s G2 team. Game time is at 6:30 p.m..
U13-Mixed
The U13-Mixed team begin their season on June 4 in Iroquois at Seaway District High School with the home opener against Ottawa-Nepean’s M1 team. Game time is as 6:30 p.m.
