Kilger to give convocation at SLC graduation

CORNWALL – Bob Kilger will be addressing St. Lawrence College graduates Friday during the school’s convocation.

The college will also give an honorary diploma to the former mayor, whom the college describes as the city’s “hometown hero.”

SLC says Kilger has been passionate about social and economic development in Cornwall and also helped the college with its international recruitment program when he was MP from 1988-2004.

Kilger also led council 2006-2014 during the city’s $1 million investment in making improvements and upgrades to the college.

The ceremony is Friday at 1 p.m. in the Aultsville Theater.

It’s one of three ceremonies held for graduating students.

The 10 a.m. service is for students in the School of Health Sciences.

The 1 p.m. ceremony is Schools of Community Services and Justice Studies and Applied Arts.

The 4 p.m. ceremony will be Schools of Applied Science and Computing, Business, Skilled Trades and Tourism, as well as the Online and Continuing Education.
