WINCHESTER – Handling more than 250 medical students has caught the eye of a provincial medical body.

The Council of Ontario Faculties of Medicine has recognized Winchester District Memorial Hospital for its medical residency program.

An article in the COFM’s recent industry report notes that many students turn their residency into a career in North Dundas.

The hospital takes on two family medicine residents every two years and there’s a big demand. Last year, 207 future doctors vied for the positions.
