CORNWALL – A new selection to Cornwall’s vast array of food choices has opened on Brookdale Avenue.

The Sushi Shop and Thai Express at 1232 Brookdale opened at 11 a.m. this morning (Wednesday).

Frank Lenneau, who lives a couple blocks away, was one of the first people through the doors.

“I think it’s great. Oh my God! My daughter swears by it – she lives in Ottawa in Barrhaven – she swears by the Thai soup and the sushi is just – my wife and I are right into sushi,” Lenneau told Cornwall Newswatch.

“I’m quite pleased because it’s here, that it’s open. That we have access to it here in Cornwall,” said Lenneau, who opened then-Alice’s Restaurant at 1274 Pitt Street in 1999.

Roughly eight employees were at the front counter waiting to serve customers while putting the finishing touches on some food displays.

The restaurant in Unit E boasts a clean, contemporary design in black and white with access to grab-and-go sushi trays and counter service along the wall for the Sushi Shop, with Thai Express located at the back.
