SD&G – Elementary school teachers across SD&G are part of a group of 76,000 launching a work-to-rule action today (Monday) to put pressure on provincial school boards to back off on their contract demands at the bargaining table.
Schools will remain open and extracurricular activities and field trips will continue for now, but teachers won’t add comments to report cards, won’t perform any EQAO work and won’t participate in any meetings or professional development related to Ministry of Education initiatives.
The job action does not affect schools with the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario President Sam Hammond left the door open to escalating the job action, but wouldn’t say how.
