CORNWALL – Cornwall is looking a little cleaner now that just over 34 metric tons of waste has been cleaned up.
Forty-seven teams and individuals took part in Spring Cleanup Week from April 25 to May 2, cleaning up litter in parks, streets and other public places.
A half dozen waste bins were also set up around the city during the event to collect the trash, which included 1.3 metric tons of e-waste and 20 tires.
Also participating were the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown and Le Village Business Improvement Areas, the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall, AB Cartage and Habitat for Humanity Seaway Valley.
Those organizations helped out with the temporary bins as well as the kickoff event on April 25.
