CORNWALL – City police are still mystified about the disappearance of a Cornwall woman.

Shirley Archambault, 69, hasn’t been seen by family members since Thursday.

“We’ve heard nothing this morning,” Cornwall Community Police Service Const. Dan Cloutier tells Cornwall Newswatch Monday morning.

Cloutier says they conducted some search efforts over the weekend but were unsuccessful.

He believes there’s a possibility she might have left the city. “We are looking for answers…she could have hitchhiked…we just don’t know,” he says.

Cloutier believes with all the media attention Archambault’s disappearance has received they would have heard something if she was still in the area.

Foul play is not suspected in her disappearance but police want to talk to her and are concerned for her welfare.

She is believed to be wearing a three-quarter length black winter jacket, black pants nad possibly black slippers. She is also know to carry a small AM-FM radio.

If you have any information you’re asked to call Det. Const. Matthew Lemire at 613-933-500 extension 2781 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
