Alexandria under boil water advisory

ALEXANDRIA – A boil water advisory is in effect for the Town of Alexandria.

Local health unit and North Glengarry township officials issued the advisory Saturday as a precaution after a water main broke near the Mill Square in the downtown.

Residents are being instructed to boil their water for one minute before using it for consumption or teeth brushing until the advisory is lifted.

The water can still be used as it is now for baths, showers and laundry.
