Day of Confession in Cornwall-area next week

CORNWALL – It’s a chance for Catholics to make peace with God.

The Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall is holding a diocesan-wide “Day of Confession” on March 25, 2015.

The diocese says it’s an opportunity to make peace with God by confronting personal shortcomings.

All four parishes are holding reconciliation sessions:

• Alexandria – St. Finnan’s Cathedral (72 St. Paul St.) 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Cornwall – Blessed Sacrament (321 Tollgate E) 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Cornwall – St-Félix-de-Valois (620 Glengarry Blvd) 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Moose Creek – Our Lady of the Angels (36 Labrosse St.) 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This follows a request from Pope Francis earlier this month for 24 hours of confession, which took place in various areas of the world this weekend.

Francis opened the initiative Friday (March 13) in St. Peter’s Basilica, which was also the second anniversary of his election.
