Extreme cold warning for SD&G

SD&G – Mother Nature is going to be anything but family friendly this Family Day weekend.

Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning saying a strong cold front moving across the province will bring bitterly cold temperatures and biting wind.

Temperatures are expected to feel like minus 25 to minus 35 this afternoon with the wind and even colder tonight with the wind chill near minus 40.

Environment Canada is warning people to dress for the conditions to avoid frost bite or hypothermia.

With the exception of Saturday with a high of minus 8, the temperature is expected to be in the minus teens to minus 20s through the long weekend.
